This one is different: the AI already running on your machine scans the folders you choose and hands your Reading the aggregate shape of what it finds. Your files never leave your machine. You see everything before it is sent.

What may your AI look at?

Everything is off until you turn it on. Each line says exactly what the prompt will ask for, and what it forbids. Categories you leave off do not appear in the prompt at all.

The prompt tells your agent to read only what you chose, to report patterns and never contents, and to answer with one JSON block you will review here. Pick where you are and the tool you use. On a computer the agent roams the folders you allowed. On a phone it reads only the files you attach to the chat.

How it works on your phone: the Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok apps cannot roam your phone the way a desktop agent roams a computer, and that is a good thing. So this prompt asks you to attach the files yourself. Open the app, paste the prompt, then use the attach button in the chat to pick files from the Files app. The agent reads only what you hand it, and you still review every line here before anything is sent.

        What exactly leaves this page?
        

          
The preview, and nothing else. Every theme, count, date, rhythm, and sentence you see in the "everything that leaves this page" box is the complete payload, rendered line by line before the send button works. If a line is not in that box, it is not sent. Your files, their names, their contents, and the folders they live in never touch this page, so they cannot leave it.

        

      


      

        How will these lines be marked in my Reading?
        

          
As their own tier of evidence, plainly labeled: from your own scan, via your AI. A platform export is a company's receipt about you. A scan is your own AI summarising your own machine, and nobody can verify it, including us. So scan lines live in their own section, are never mixed in with platform receipts, and count far less toward the depth number. The Reading says all of this next to the lines themselves.

        

      


      

        Why don't you just scan my computer for me?
        

          
Because then your files would be on our servers, and the whole product is built on never holding them. The free Count opens platform exports in your browser. The Reading receives approved summaries, not archives. The scan keeps the same rule: the reading of your machine happens on your machine, by a tool you already trust with it, and we receive only the aggregate you approved. A version of this feature where you hand us disk access would be more convenient for us and worse for you, so it does not exist.

        

      


      

        Can the JSON smuggle something out?
        

          
The prompt forbids quotes, names, paths, message text, and URLs, and we do not stop at asking politely. This page validates the JSON against a fixed schema before you ever see the preview, and the server validates it again with the same rules and refuses the whole payload on the first violation: an unknown field, an over-long string, a category you did not choose, anything URL-shaped anywhere. And because you read every line before sending, the last check is the one that matters most: you.

        

      


      

        Can I delete it?
        

          
Yes, on the spot, with the remove button above, whether or not you are paying. It removes the scan's lines, its source entry, and any corrections you made on those lines, and recomputes the depth number without them. Deleting your whole Reading, or your account, removes it too, because the scan is stored inside the Reading and nowhere else.

        

      


      

        Do I need to pay?
        

          
The prompt, the checking, and the preview are free and run in this tab. Sending the aggregate into your Reading is part of the Reading, which is the paid step: the price is here. Removing a scan is free forever, like everything else about owning your record.
