How to download your Amazon data, and how long the wait actually is

Amazon's request page lets you ask for one category or everything, and the difference is days against weeks. Advertising alone is reported to arrive in a day or two. Amazon states a request can take up to 30 days. Written 2026-08-24.

The exact taps, in order

Your part of this is about two to four minutes. Everything after that is Amazon taking its time, and nothing you do speeds it up.

  1. Sign in on the web Open amazon.com in a browser. This is not in the shopping app.
  2. Open your account Account and Lists, then Your Account, then look for Data and Privacy. If you cannot find it, the page is titled Request Your Information in Amazon's Privacy Center.
  3. Choose a category The dropdown is the whole decision. Advertising holds the audience segments and is small and fast. Request All Your Data is everything and is much slower.
  4. Consider Retail too Your order and browse history sits under the retail categories. Purchases you have completely forgotten about are still voting.
  5. Submit the request Amazon confirms on screen and sends an email.
  6. Click the confirmation link The request does not start until you do. This is the step people miss, then assume Amazon ignored them.
  7. Wait for the second email It carries the download link, and the files are also collected on the same privacy page.
  8. Download and keep it The archive is a set of CSV files inside a zip.

The Advertising category alone is usually a few megabytes of CSV. Request All Your Data commonly runs to several gigabytes, because it sweeps in years of order history, browse history, device records and any voice history you have. reported

What is missing from it

Not in the file, whatever anyone tells you

The download expires

Do not lose the link

Amazon delivers by link and keeps the files on the privacy page for a limited period. Download the day it lands. After a wait this long, losing the link is a bad way to spend another two weeks.

Read this before you trust a number on this page

Every wait window and every file size here is reported, not measured by us. It comes from the platform's own published help pages and from what people consistently say happens, and platforms change both without telling anyone. When we have a request we timed ourselves, this page will say measured and print the date the measurement was taken. Until then, treat these as the range to plan around rather than a promise.

Questions about the Amazon export

How long does Amazon take to send your data?

Reported at a day or two for the Advertising category and one to two weeks for Request All Your Data. Amazon states a request can take up to 30 days. We have not measured this ourselves, and when we do this page will say measured and give the date.

Which Amazon category holds the advertising audiences?
