Pupul vs Paperbell

Paperbell runs your coaching business. Pupul is the record your client keeps.

Paperbell is a genuinely well-built coaching platform: scheduling, payments with zero platform fee, e-signature contracts, and an automated client portal, all in one $57-a-month plan. Pupul does none of that. The only place these two products actually meet is the client's own history, and there they are opposite by design: in Paperbell that history lives inside the coach's account, in Pupul it lives with the client. Fair warning

When you should pick Paperbell instead

Paperbell is the right call if

What you need is a seamless way to sell coaching packages, schedule sessions, collect e-signatures on a contract, and take payment, all without your client having to set up a password. Paperbell is built exactly for that transactional flow, and Pupul does not attempt any of it. If booking and getting paid is your actual bottleneck, Paperbell solves that problem directly and Pupul solves a different one.

The one thing Pupul does that Paperbell structurally cannot

Paperbell's client portal exists inside the coach's account because that is where the booking, the contract, and the payment history all have to live to work as one flow. That is a reasonable design for a business tool, and it also means the client's history has no path out of that account on its own. Pupul inverts that on purpose: the client's file is append-only, every entry a practitioner signs is checkpointed and signed, and the client can revoke a coach's access or move the file to someone else without asking anyone's permission, including ours.

FAQ

The questions people actually ask

What is the actual difference between Pupul and Paperbell?
Paperbell is a coaching business platform: scheduling, payments, e-signature contracts, and an automated client portal, all in one $57-a-month plan. Pupul does none of that. Pupul is the client's own standing record: the practitioner reads it before session one and signs entries into it, and the client keeps it when the engagement ends. The two tools solve different problems and can run side by side.
Is Pupul a replacement for Paperbell?
No. Paperbell handles booking, invoicing, contracts, and the client checkout flow. Pupul has no equivalent to any of that. If you need to take payments and get contracts signed, keep Paperbell. Pupul is the client-owned record that sits beside it.
Does Pupul process payments or handle scheduling like Paperbell?
No. Pupul does not touch scheduling, invoicing, contracts, or payment processing in any form. Keep Paperbell, or whatever else you use, for that. Pupul is only the client's own record and the signed entries a practitioner adds to it.
Can I use Pupul alongside my existing Paperbell account?
Yes. Pupul does not compete with any part of what Paperbell does, so a client can book and pay through your Paperbell account and separately hold a Pupul file that carries their history with you and whoever they see next.
How much does Pupul cost compared to Paperbell?
Paperbell is a flat $57 a month, or about $47.50 a month billed annually, whether or not you take on a new client that month. Pupul's software is free and your first client read is free. After that it is $39 per client read, $390 for a block of ten, or $1,990 a year unlimited once you are running roughly 50 reads a year.
Does Paperbell take a cut of my payments?
Paperbell itself does not add a transaction fee on top of your subscription. Standard Stripe or PayPal processing fees still apply, since Paperbell routes payments through those processors. This is a genuine strength of Paperbell and Pupul makes no comparable claim, since Pupul does not process payments at all.
What happens to the client's history if they stop working with a coach on Paperbell?
It stays inside that coach's Paperbell account. A Pupul file works the opposite way: the client already holds it, so when the engagement ends they keep the file, entries and all, and can share it with whoever they work with next.
